About the Role
We are looking for a Research Grants Manager to join NDM Experimental Medicine.
The role of the Research Grants Manager is a key position within the Research Grant Management Team, reporting to the Business Manager. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside researchers at the leading edge of science in the largest medical department at Oxford. You will manage the research portfolio of research projects, ensuring that the needs of the academics and professional services, and the requirements of research funders, are met. You will have line management responsibility for the research grant team and support the Business Manager in growing and developing the Team, ensuring delivery of consistent, high quality, professional project support. You will work with other colleagues to foster a positive team culture, and model and promote core values and behaviours.
About the Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine
The Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine (NDM) is one of the largest departments of the University of Oxford and is part of the Medical Sciences Division, with responsibility for a significant part of the teaching of clinical students within the Medical School.

About You
You will have a systematic, and well organised approach to work and ability to prioritise a heavy and varied workload whilst keeping on track of a large volume of on-going projects. You will have knowledge of the major funding bodies, and of current issues affecting the research funding sector.
With the ability to work independently with minimal/no supervision but also working well within a team. Demonstrating skills in effective people management and the ability to support, develop, and motivate staff.
It is desirable that you have experience with financial software’s, although this is not essential.
It is essential that the you are are educated to degree level or have equivalent related experience, ideally in the higher education sector or research environment.
