Summary

The Governors at Thurnham Glasson C of E Primary School are looking for a dedicated and motivated L3 Teaching Assistant to work across our school from EYFS up to KS2. This is a fixed-term variable hours contract to the end of the school year.

Thurnham Glasson C of E Primary school is small family school situated on the outskirts of Lancaster. Our team of dedicated staff ensure that our children receive an inspirational education based around our mission statement: Let your light shine.

Our Reception class incorporates pre-school/nursery children (3-4 year olds) in an EYFS unit. We offer wrap around care and extended provision for pre-school/nursery children from 08:30-9:00am and 3:30-4:00pm. The successful candidate will be expected to work in pre-school/nursery and support the wrap around/extended provision when required.

We are looking to recruit a creative, innovative and reliable individual who has a good understanding of the EYFS and Ofsted standards. You will work as part of a dedicated team to provide a caring learning environment for all of our children whilst creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for our families. We need someone who can be flexible and adaptable to the needs of our school, relates well to children of all abilities and is committed to promoting progress for all. The successful candidate must be a positive role model, have good communication skills and most importantly have energy, a cheerful manner and a good sense of humour.

Work Pattern: Monday-Friday 9:00-3:30pm unless wrap around/extended provision is required.

  • NVQ L3 qualification or equivalent.

Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ L3 or equivalent appropriate to the post.
  • GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C or above (or equivalent)

Desirable Qualifications

  • Paediatric First Aid Certificate

Essential Experience

  • To have experience of working with children in the Early Years Foundation Stage/KS1 classroom.
  • To be committed to providing high quality experiences for children.
  • To have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of working with mixed age classes.
