Job Summary | The associate editor will be a key contributor to Bowdoin College’s award-winning magazine and will be chiefly responsible for the class news and Forward sections. The magazine is one of the College’s most effective means of communicating with alumni and other community members. Working with the editor, designer, managing editor, senior editor, and other contributors as part of a collegial and curious team, the associate editor will also propose and develop feature ideas, write and produce material for print and web, and serve as a member of the overall writing staff for the office of communications and public affairs. The associate editor engages regularly with the Office of Alumni Relations, faculty, senior leadership, and key staff across campus to develop and produce timely material for the magazine that is both thought-provoking and relevant to its key audience, and also collaborates with other communications staff on developing compelling and effective storytelling across various other channels.
