Student and Registry Services is one of the larger Professional Services divisions at UCL, providing essential services to UCL’s 50,000 students, 160,000 applicants and for supporting academic departments and administrative staff in delivering a high-quality student experience.
UCL’s Education Services department is part of Student and Registry Services and is responsible for providing a range of services that centre around UCL’s education and student experience policy framework. The department plays a key role in ensuring that our regulation, policy, and student engagement framework support the delivery of UCL’s education strategy and our compliance with Office for Students ‘B conditions’. The teams within Education Services are Student Casework, Academic Policy, Quality and Standards, and Student Success.
As part of the Academic Policy, Quality and Standards Team, the Academic Policy and Quality Manager is responsible for providing expert advice to colleagues at all levels of the institution on matters related to academic policy development, compliance with quality and standards conditions, and education-related governance. They are also responsible for developing, designing, and managing UCL’s regulations, policies and procedures relating to academic quality and standards, whilst working with the Head of Academic Policy, Quality and Standards to coordinate the work of the wider team, for whom there will be some line management responsibility.
The postholder is expected to provide leadership to professional services colleagues in other areas of the institution in their work as it relates to quality assurance, enhancement, and education governance. They will also work in partnership with colleagues in a collection of faculties in support of their work in the areas of programme validation, academic partnerships, and external examining.

The successful candidate will be an experienced, outward looking quality professional who has supported one or more of the following assurance or review processes in their current or previous role(s): programme approval and review, supporting collaborative provision, annual or periodic monitoring, academic policy development or education governance.
You will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and will be confident in providing advice, guidance and leadership to colleagues in faculties, departments and other professional services functions on the processes and policies managed by the team.
