Job Description

The International Development Division has an opening for an International Mental Health Specialist (International Technical Associate II), reporting to the Principal Advisor of Mental Health, Trauma, and Violence. Most of the countries and communities where EDC works lack any significant mental health care services; as such, EDC is working to better equip communities, school systems and out-of-school programs with high-quality, evidence-informed programming to support the mental wellbeing of youth and adults. Within the International Development Division, the Mental Health & Wellbeing Team works to develop mental health training curricula, materials, and activities to mainstream and support de-stigmatization of mental health help-seeking across the areas in which EDC works, and to translate evidence-based mental health education, care and treatment approaches for community use.

The International Mental Health Specialist (International Technical Associate II) is a casual employee position. EDC casual employees generally work on an as-needed basis, with hours variable depending on needs and scope of work for particular assignments/tasks. A casual employee position receives statutory benefits of Social Security contributions, Medicare contributions, unemployment insurance, worker’s compensation insurance and sick leave. A casual position ends when work is complete.
