Position description
This position is with the Global Strategic Communications Council (GSCC), a global network of communications professionals in the field of climate, energy and nature. GSCC is a programme hosted by the Meliore Foundation.
We’re looking for an innovative Operations Lead for Team Asia with a unique combination of skills who wants to play a major role in tackling climate change.
You’ll be joining Team Asia, efficiently running the everyday operations for our team, run by the Asia Director, with country desks in India, South Korea, Japan, Bangladesh and Indonesia. You will be the key liaison between Team Asia and Meliore’s Global Operations Team, ensuring alignment in the execution of standards and policies, ensuring Team Asia is kept abreast of relevant operational updates, and coordinates crucial touchpoints within the Team.

How you’ll contribute
- Support the Asia Director in all operational facets, including finance, grants, legal, IT and administration;
- Provide feedback and suggest improvements to both to Team Asia and the Global Operations Team in order to achieve optimum operational efficiency;
- Seek out, analyse and share crucial information which affects operations in Asia, particularly on the aspects of legal and security;
- Assist the Global People & Culture Team in the end-to-end management of members of Team Asia;
- Oversee all stages in the management of regional grants and budget, including monitoring expenditure reports and identifying and mitigating risks;
- Work collaboratively with the team across all operational areas, including the operations of setting up new country desks where necessary;
- Act as overall administrative and logistical focal point for Asia, including planning and executing the annual Team Asia in-person meeting.
Our ideal candidate has
- Relevant professional experience in project, administratrive and/or operational support.
- Prior work experience in a remote, international settings in Asian regions; non-profit experience a plus.
- Strong coordination and excellent administrative skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels and with diverse groups.
- Excellent ability to convey information with diplomacy, discretion and clarity across various communication platforms.
- Prior experience on workplace security and climate advocacy a plus.
- Fluency in written and spoken English, our working language; additional languages are an asset, particularly from those countries within Team Asia.
- A genuine interest in and passion for addressing climate change.
- The disposition to work generously with colleagues in a high-trust global community of peers.
- The versatile and adaptable skills necessary to flourish in a fast-paced and wide-ranging work environment and work across time zones using tools such as Zoom, Slack and email (Google Workspace).

Location: Asia, flexibly remote.
Some international travel will be required. We may be able to provide co-working spaces in some locations. Only candidates with the right to work in their location will be considered.
