Job Requirements

  • Formal training/experience specific to Automobile Physical Damage
  • Insurance experience / background an asset

  • Possess a valid Driver’s License, maintained in good standing
  • Effective and confident negotiation ability when dealing with Vendors
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external clients
  • Maintain positive morale and demonstrate team spirit
  • Understanding and knowledge of Master Services Agreements and Service Level Agreements
  • Results oriented and possesses excellent analytical skills.
  • Proficient in performance management soft skills.
  • Familiar with lean processes (5s)

Job Details

Manage overall Automobile relationship and performance for the TD Insurance Automobile Preferred partner network in the Calgary, including the responsibility of the vendor relationship and oversight of the TD Insurance Auto Centres.

Key Accountabilities include but may not be limited to the following:

  • Manage vendor relationship to business’ goals and objectives, understanding and reconciling competing priorities and evolving business requirements
  • Evaluate vendor performance and ensure the prompt and thorough resolution or escalation of performance issues, understanding/managing risks associated with customer facing/impacting vendors
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal TD partners and vendor(s) to ensure business priorities requirements are clearly understood and met, and objectives are aligned
  • Understand contractual terms and conditions in order to effectively manage vendor agreement(s) and relationship(s)
  • Ultimately responsible for delivery of effective vendor relationship; including service/product delivery, VM governance, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participates and supports the implementation of projects and initiatives to maximize value from third-party spend in the context of enterprise goals and specific business objectives
  • Participate in and/or may lead vendor management meetings with clearly defined roles, responsibilities and objectives to drive effective communication between the two parties
  • Facilitate the mitigation of risk by implementing key controls and lead/participate in the resolution of

risk/compliance/ invoicing issues * Apply appropriate governance meeting structure and discipline, according to vendor segmentation category and VM Model (may include Enterprise VM activities and coordination)

  • Develop understanding of technical/business aspects of vendor services, in order to identify synergies, seek continuous improvement opportunities and implement initiatives to drive savings, pursue efficiencies, and increase capacity
  • Support the identification and development of process-improvement strategies to generate efficiencies and maintain oversight of vendor performance; including vendor performance management, reporting disciplines and remediation plans to address issues highlighted at the vendor level
  • Ownership of vendor relationship of assigned vendor(s), including to seek continuous improvement opportunities and implement initiatives to drive savings, pursue efficiencies, and increase capacity
  • Deliver performance results to the preferred vendors and ensuring appropriate business decisions are made with regards to vendor priority, performance improvement plans and / or supporting decisions to terminate relationships
  • Assist with Strategic Sourcing to support strategies designed to standardize/centralize sourcing activity, reduce the cost of goods and services, reduce the supplier base, manage demand, or improve internal controls
  • Monitoring the tracking of service credits &/or penalties against vendor performance in accordance with contract commitments; tracks actual spend against purchase and utilization forecasts to build and maintain a view of vendor utilization (penetration), as applicable
  • Work with vendor and/or business partners, as appropriate, to validate and provide consolidated financial reporting to Business Leaders as required
  • Conduct regular audit of vendor invoices/estimates and facilitate the resolution/escalation of invoice or credit-related issues in accordance with contract terms and conditions
  • Manage expenses within the TDI expense policy
