Description
Conduct comprehensive eye examinations for paediatric patients to detect visual disorders, refractive errors, and other eye conditions.
· Utilize specialized equipment and techniques suitable for examining children.
· Work closely with paediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
· Educate parents and caregivers about paediatric eye health, emphasizing the importance of early detection and treatment.
· Provide guidance on preventive measures and lifestyle changes to maintain good eye health in children.
· Participate in community outreach programs, schools, and health fairs to raise awareness about paediatric eye health and offer screenings to children.
Ophthalmologist skills:
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Experience working with paediatric patients is preferred.
· Commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships within communities.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Qualifications:
Completed degree from an accredited eye academic institution with 2 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience:
• Knowledge of outbreak response is an added advantage.
• Mature individual, able to work independently, effectively, and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds at all levels.
• Capable of working under stressful and difficult conditions.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality in performing responsibilities.
• Computer literate on Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
Languages:
Comfortable in English, Arabic, and Kurdish is a must.
