Introduction :

Country: Vientiane, Capital with potential field missions. 

 

Description of the Assignment: 

The National Consultant will work with the project team, project associate, project coordinator/ manager of the Lawyer Project under the supervision of the UNDP Governance Team Leader.

The consultant will be responsible for supporting the coordination and implementation of the Lawyer Project. This will involve logistical and administration work, translation of key relevant materials from Lao-English- and English-Lao language communications support, development of PowerPoint slides, and helping to prepare presentations and notes for events/workshops/meetings.

The National Consultant is expected to work closely with the relevant partners, development partners in the justice sector, the LBA, MOJ, and other justice actors.

The tasks of the National Consultant will mainly support the implementation of Lawyer Project, some of those include:

Task 1: Support coordination with LBA, lawyers and key partners to ensure their engagement and contribution to the Lawyer Project.

·         Communicate with project partners, LBA, lawyers, MoJ and/or other justice sectors as guided by project staff.

·         Support the Project Coordinator to strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders from both DPs and individual lawyers through sharing information on the project and inviting them to key events.

·         Provide informal interpretation at events for the project and LBA team as appropriate. 

Task 2: Support project logistics, administration, and finance. 

·         Support the Project Associate on all aspects related to logistics, administration, and finance of the project and as needed. This could involve organizing travel, processing travel requests, organizing workshops/trainings, contributing to the financial report, and other logistics, administration and finance tasks as appropriate.

 

Task 3: Support on project’s activity implementation: 

Task 1: Support coordination with LBA, lawyers and key partners to ensure their engagement and contribution to the Lawyer Project.

·         Communicate with project partners, LBA, lawyers, MoJ and/or other justice sectors as guided by project staff.

·         Support the Project Coordinator to strengthening partnerships with key stakeholders from both DPs and individual lawyers through sharing information on the project and inviting them to key events.

·         Provide informal interpretation at events for the project and LBA team as appropriate.

Task 2: Support project logistics, administration, and finance. 

·         Support the Project Associate on all aspects related to logistics, administration, and finance of the project and as needed. This could involve organizing travel, processing travel requests, organizing workshops/trainings, contributing to the financial report, and other logistics, administration and finance tasks as appropriate.

Task 3: Support on project’s activity implementation: event/workshop/meeting/training preparations

·         Support the preparation and organization of workshops/meetings/events of Lawyer Project.

·         Support drafting of invitations and list of participants for the events to be hosted by the Lawyer Project and other documents as necessary.

·         Provide translation from English to Lao and Lao to English of documents as appropriate.

·         Support to take notes for minutes/meeting notes of the workshops/meetings.

·         Support simple M&E tasks to contribute to the project’s M&E report as appropriate.

 

Period of assignment/services (if applicable): 80 working days over 5 months.
