As a leader within the Investment Solutions group at RBC GAM, the role will provide specialized product coverage for RBC GAM’s $12B Private Markets platform, presently comprised of direct real estate, infrastructure, and mortgage fund solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with our Private Market investment team, national distribution platform, institutional portfolio management team and various marketing partners to help develop and execute a coordinated distribution plan for the private market solutions across RBC Wealth’s individual client channels. RBC GAM views the Private Markets fund platform as a key long-term component of its scalable, broad, and comprehensive investment platform.

What will you do?

Direct accountability to maintain deep knowledge of RBC GAM’s Private Markets strategies in order to empower our distribution teams with the information they need to successfully position these strategies to their clients.

Work closely with RBC GAM’s Private Markets portfolio management teams and distribution teams in the communication of investment product and market-related information as a subject-matter expert.

Working with RBC GAM’s institutional portfolio management team, develop and maintain all advisor and client facing materials across our Private Markets strategies including pitch decks, fund commentaries, slides and sales materials as required.

Actively participate in the development and delivery of presentations to advisors and clients as experience and familiarity develops.

Produce timely, relevant, and substantial investment-related content that can be used to grow/reinforce our position as a lead asset manager. This includes writing commentary and articles in response to markets trends, as well as editing and modifying content for specific target audiences.

Develop and maintain key industry relationships within the asset management and private markets product distribution sector.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

Investment/Asset Management industry experience (~ 5 – 10 years)

CFA designation (candidate or charterholder) or comparable qualifications/experience

Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, specifically related to charting, formatting, and data analysis

Client-focused mindset with an intellectual curiosity

Exceptional written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

An ability to work independently and prioritize across numerous tasks and various stakeholders

Innovative self-starter with acute attention to detail, strong organizational skills and exceptional integrity.

Team player with the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and to prioritize and multitask in an unstructured environment

Agile and forward thinking and able to pivot across the investment management client spectrum

Nice to Have

Direct experience with Alternative/Private Markets Investments (real estate, infrastructure, and mortgages)

Proven investment fund raising experience within the individual wealth management business

Investment Advisor and/or client facing experience

Previous experience developing and writing investment-related content

Experience with Morningstar Direct and Bloomberg
