JOB SUMMARY

The role of Senior Sustainability Specialist has been created to define, lead, and manage initiatives to deliver Obelisk’s sustainability strategy and its subsidiaries to become more sustainable businesses environmentally, socially, and economically.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Review and refresh the sustainability strategy and objectives in line with the business strategy.
  • Work collaboratively with leaders in the business, subject matter experts and data owners to agree and gather and analyse key metrics used for measurement of the three pillars of sustainability.
  • Specifically, carry out reporting and analysis of carbon emissions within the Obelisk group of companies (scope 1, scope 2 and scope 3)
  • Work with Supply chain team to scope the full supply chain and establish baselines.
  • Based on data, define, and manage the delivery of projects to achieve the sustainability strategy, including the reduction of emissions in line with stated ambitions.
  • Manage internal reporting on sustainability and broader strategy KPIs on a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly basis or as required to ensure key stakeholders are kept informed.
  • Lead the company’s Sustainability and ESG disclosure strategy and implementation to deliver best in sector disclosures in line with the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and other applicable reporting requirements specified by clients.
  • Play a leading role in the preparation of the annual sustainability report.
  • Keep abreast of relevant legislation and inform the business on its relevance and practical implications.
  • Apply knowledge to drive best practice and innovation to meet sustainable standards.
  • Work with stakeholders and colleagues to build greater understanding of sustainability within Obelisk and its subsidiaries.
  • Be the responsible person in Obelisk for all sustainability interactions within the UK / Ireland cluster and with Obelisk’s parent company, Constructel Visabeira

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A passion for sustainability!
  • Qualification in sustainability and or environmental engineering
  • No less than 3 years’ experience working in corporate sustainability, with more experience being an advantage.
  • Understanding of project management methodology
  • Strong analysis skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Collaborative approach
