The Indigenous Relations Summer Student will support the ESG And Indigenous Relations Team in the implementation of the ENMAX Indigenous Relations Strategy. The Indigenous Relations Summer Student will also provide support on presentation preparation, working group documentation, and meeting facilitation. The Indigenous Relations Summer Student will have the opportunity to work across all areas of the business in this collaborative, cross-functional role where they will have input into how ENMAX advances Indigenous Relations.

This position is part of the 2024 ENMAX Summer Student Program. This 16-week program demonstrates ENMAX’s commitment to invest in our future workforce and supports youth in building beneficial career skills. To be eligible applicants must be enrolled in a full-time degree or diploma program at an accredited post-secondary institution and must be returning full-time in the fall.

Major Responsibilities:

Assist with the Indigenous strategy implementation to support workforce diversity, supply chain best practices, business opportunities, and community relationships.

Create internal and external communications to create awareness of Indigenous Relations activities.

Assist in the planning of education activities for ENMAX employees on the history of Indigenous Peoples.

Support the content creation for the Indigenous Relations section of the annual ESG report.

Education Required:

Working towards a Degree or Diploma in Business, Sustainability, Economics, Environment, Communications, Aboriginal or Indigenous Relations or other relevant discipline.

Qualifications & Experience:

Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Strong research and analysis skills

Effective written communication and presentation skills

Mature relationship building and collaboration skills

Data analytics experience an asset

Salary: Administrator Level B (Current CUPE 2024 rates)

Step 1 – $24.22 / hour

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 – 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
