Main Job Role:

Based at our facility in Congleton you will be responsible for the daily running of our service workshop, you will be fully involved in all aspects of tooling repair including but not limited to pneumatic and DC motor tooling types. Within this role you will be responsible for all aspects of workshop management including stock control, housekeeping, and future development. You will report to the Service Supervisor. Working alongside our internal departments you will be involved in bespoke project assemblies and/or customer rework requests.

Your main duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Goods shipping and receiving of customer equipment, logging, and arrangement of all deliveries to and from the premises.
  • Inventory control of all spare parts stock and consumable items ensuring minimum stock levels are kept.
  • Using Spirit and SAP systems, receive, investigate, quote, repair and shipment of customer received equipment as per company procedures.
  • Calibration and adjustment of DC and Pneumatic tooling.
  • Assembly of bespoke customer-based projects.
  • Liaising with 3rd party contractors with guidance from line manager.

Essential Skills and Expertise:

  • Background knowledge in mechanical and electrical tooling applications.
  • Ability to problem solve electrical and pneumatic tooling faults.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Understanding of ASC sectors (especially drilling) is advantageous but not essential.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office apps such as Excel, Bi, PPT, SharePoint etc.
  • Knowledge of SAP is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills, in both written and verbal context.
  • Self-motivation with the ability to work alone when required.
  • Ability to work to tight schedules, prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • Have an understanding and the ability to use technical/professional knowledge and information.
  • Various product and marketing specific software (training will be provided for you)
  • Ability to express ideas, receive and exchange information clearly.
  • Ability to maintain a clear focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Able to identify alternatives to current thinking; ability to develop and implement innovative solutions to problems.
  • Ability to utilise appropriate interpersonal styles and methods during group interactions.
  • Ability to work to tight schedules, prioritise workload and meet specific deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels, internally and externally in a confident manner.
  • Have a flexible approach to your work schedule.
  • Attend training sessions to develop knowledge and skills.
  • Able to conduct effective performance evaluations and mentor those with less experience through informal channels.
  • Ability to train others and clients through both formal and informal training programs.
  • Suggest areas for improvement on internal processes along with possible solutions.
  • Comply with and help to enforce standard policies and procedures.
  • Effectively promote the Desoutter brand.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be prepared to travel outside the Congleton area for company events or occasional site visits.
