The Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) unit of UNHCR Philippines is searching for a talented and professional Communications and Donor Relations Assistant to join the team. The PSP Unit over the past eight years has carved its niche in the Philippine charity landscape and has grown support from over 43,000 Filipino donors giving to the refugee cause. The growth in donor acquisition and the improving engagement from its donor base are indications of the sympathetic affinity of the Filipino public as a result of sustained delivery of relevant content from a national Goodwill Ambassador and content partners who front-loaded the plight of our persons-of-concern. The digitalization momentum has shifted a significant part of donor acquisition, retention and development activities to digital and in-house channels, requiring innovation and agility in UNHCR’s fundraising communication initiatives.
In this position, the successful hire will perform a broad range of specialized duties primarily implementing an end-to-end digital communications strategy to set the course for sustainable and long-term fundraising growth.
The ideal candidate should be innovative, and web and multimedia savvy. He/She should have a firm grasp of various digital touchpoints, steer UNHCR’s narrative, and drive highly effective multichannel campaigns. The candidate must be dynamic and energetic with excellent communication and negotiation skills, and will be exposed to frequent liaison with UNHCR donors, supporters, colleagues, and, as appropriate, other colleagues amongst PSP’s global network.

Under supervision of her/his direct supervisor, the incumbent’s responsibilities will include:
Brand Awareness and Public Engagement:

Purpose and Scope of Assignment
Under supervision of her/his direct supervisor, the incumbent’s responsibilities will include:
Brand Awareness and Public Engagement:
- Social Media Management: Assist PSP Associate in the management and content deployment of UNHCR Philippines’ social media channels; • Manage the message inbox of all social media channels in a timely and responsive manner;
- Help monitor and track social media analytics for content optimization
- Assist PSP Associate in public engagement through campaigns, tapping of new engagements
- and partnerships with traditional and non-traditional media and organisations
- Assist in monitoring the digital footprint of the Goodwill Ambassador
Digital Fundraising Support:
- Support in the creation of online donation pages in accordance to HQ requirements.
- Support PSP Associate in implementing a robust, responsive, and agile digital marketing strategy through ‘always-on’ content development, execution, and optimization across digital channels;
- Assist in the content development and deployment of email communications to supporters;
- Assist in the optimization of email marketing through timely reporting and analytics;
- Perform other tasks as necessary
Creative Content Development:
- Support he PSP unit in implementing communications and fundraising strategies for 2024 through creative content development – employing a mix of videos, infographics, photos, and others;
- Support the PSP Associate in producing creative content to acquire financial and non-financial supporters of UNHCR Philippines;
- Support the PSP Associate in producing content for supporter engagement during the course of UNHCR Philippines’ campaigns;
- Support the PSP Associate in producing creative content for social media and the UNHCR Philippines website;
- Ensure that all content production and development adheres to UNHCR Brand Guidelines;
Administrative Support:
- Ensure all the soundness of all donor touchpoint infrastructure (website, donation landing pages, social media, and other third-party platforms).
- Serve on cross functional project teams as required ensuring a PSP’s interest and needs are represented.
- Perform other duties as required.
Monitoring and Progress Controls:
- Improved key performance indicators (+followers, +engagement) of UNHCR’s social media platforms
- Increased UNHCR’s share of voice vis-à-vis peers in the market
- Improved engagement (open rate, conversion rate) of UNHCR supporters on digital communication pieces served them
Qualifications and Experience:
- For high school diploma: minimum of one (1) year of relevant job experience preferably in a similar position in the non-profit sector, for bachelor degree or higher: no experience required.

- Project Management
- Strong communicator with advanced written and verbal fluency in English and Filipino
- Proficient in video editing and video content production; Experience in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, or other video editing software is essential;
- Graphic design and document formatting skills; Experience in using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Canva, or other similar design software is essential
- Experience in photography and videography are desirable
- Experience in HTML, CMS, website management, and email marketing are desirable.
- Knowledge of refugee issues and of UNHCR is an asset
