Building a World-Class, Diverse and Inclusive Technology Team at TD
This role will work as part of the Technology Operational Resilience (TOR) team within Enterprise Protect. The function of TOR is to ensure TD is ready and able to effectively prepare, prevent, respond and recover from any issues that would impede TD’s ability to deliver services to its employees and customers.
Job Requirements
What can you bring to TD? Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:
- 10+ years in highly technical leadership roles in IT infrastructure. 2+ years operational resilience experience in financial services or other highly regulated environment.
- Technical/system architecture background strongly preferred
- Deep understanding of how to perform holistic assessments using common frameworks, such as NIST, along with deep experience in operational resilience concepts, approaches and tactics.
- Clear understanding of financial regulatory guidance related to resilience, including BASEL, FFIEC, Etc.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure design and deployment principles, with the ability to provide deep review of architectures to identify resilience gaps
- Extensive experience with designing, deploying and/or operating core infrastructure
- systems, including networks, firewalls, monitoring system, middleware, authentication systems, etc.
- Extensive experience with designing core technology systems across cloud, hybrid and internally hosted environments
- Proven ability to partner with technology system designers, operators, and owners to assess architectures, deployments, operations and other aspects in a manner that is seen as partnering vs. auditing
- Proven peer leadership capabilities and a drive to make change in a productive way
- Very strong interpersonal skills and relationship building
- Strong facilitation capabilities
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to challenge in a productive manner
- Knowledge of banking industry and the regulatory environment
- Proven ability to breakdown problems and opportunities into logical parts and develop plans to address those

Job Details
About This Role This leader will work across various technology teams and areas to formally assess the current level of resilience for core technology and infrastructure systems, using a standardized methodology and framework. This including gaining a deep understanding of how the infrastructure and core services are used by business applications and services within TD to understand the level of resilience that is required, identifying dependencies at all levels, identifying the systems ability to absorb and recover from impacts, and identifying specific actions that can be taken to raise the current resilience level. Specific responsibilities include:
- Work across technology, cyber and business areas to develop plans to measure and increase the resilience of TD
- Work with technology owners to identify operational resilience risks in system design, operations and/or architecture
- Collaboratively develop options to reduce identified resilience gaps and measure progress
- Leverage industry relationships to understand best practices in technical resilience
- Develop and implement measures of operational resilience that allow appropriate risk visibility and management
- Drive identification and development of standards to increase TD’s technology resilience
Design and implement approaches to identify, measure and improve resilience in key areas such as technology concentration risk, third party provider risk, cloud risk, etc.
