This is a senior role within the Workforce Directorate reporting to the Head of HR. We are looking for an individual who will positively influence and contribute to the continued delivery of the Boards Workforce Strategy. The successful candidate will have operational responsibility for the delivery or a transformational HR service across NHS Dumfries and Galloway and will manage a team of HR professionals.

The NHS is a large complex organisation and we would welcome applications from individuals who have experience working in similar organisations within either the Public or Private sectors.

The successful candidate will:
Be educated to postgraduate level in HR and have Chartered Membership of CIPD, or currently working towards this with equivalent relevant experience.
Have strong management skills and experience of managing a team of professionals
Have demonstrated the ability to negotiate and work collaboratively with others at both a local and national level
Have a strong passion and clear drive to enhance the delivery of a high quality, professional HR service to managers and staff ,
Be able to evidence the ability to keep up with new legislation, policy changes and industry news to inform and advise our services, managers and staff
Have the ability to present information to a wide ranging audience up to executive level.

The post requires the successful candidate to work autonomously in all areas under their responsibility providing an expert, specialist authoritative advisory service to managers and team members defining, interpreting and implementing Board policy within both local and national contexts.
