We have a unique opportunity for two pharmacists to join our enthusiastic, innovative and supportive pharmacy team at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. These posts would ideally suit a registered pharmacist looking to obtain hospital experience or a foundation trainee pharmacist due to register summer 2024 looking for a role in hospital pharmacy services. The successful full time candidates will provide clinical pharmacy support on a rotational basis to medical and surgical wards in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. You will experience the wide range of specialities we have in this District General Hospital general surgery, orthopaedics, renal, acute receiving, cardiology, respiratory, endocrine, stroke,rehab, care of the elderly, critical care, womens and childrens.

We have a technician led/pharmacist light dispensary with a requirement to support the dispensary 4 hours per week.
You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary teams on the wards and team pharmacy where we are working hard to consider the skill mix within the teams in all the activities we undertake. You will be supported on site by a team of senior pharmacists and will be supported to undertake your prescribing qualification if not already completed and your foundation training to further develop your practice.
You will be based in Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, in a rural location in beautiful south west Scotland with easy access to Northern Ireland and the Scottish central belt.
Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary supports electronic prescribing (HEPMA) and robotics, and team pharmacy work closely with both the community pharmacy and primary care pharmacy teams. The post holder will be welcomed to team pharmacy where we are working hard to consider skill mix in all of our activities and to continually develop our services.
These posts include supporting team pharmacy NHS Dumfries and Galloway to deliver seven day working/bank holiday working and on-call.
