What is the opportunity?

As the Director, Global Privacy Program, you will lead RBC’s Global Privacy Program policies, practices, methodologies and tools. You will partner with senior stakeholders across Global Privacy, Legal Affairs & Compliance, and Group Risk Management, to ensure changing regulatory and consumer expectations are reflected in RBC’s robust privacy risk program.

What will you do?

  • Maintain and enhance Enterprise Privacy policies, procedures, and control standards, ensuring changes in regulation, consumer expectation and the operating environment are adequately reflected.
  • Oversee the ongoing transformation of privacy-specific methodologies, and the Enterprise tools that support these, including privacy risk assessments, privacy incident and breach assessments.
  • Produce quarterly analysis and reporting on the state of privacy risk management across RBC, evolving privacy risk appetite metrics, key performance indicators and key risk indicators, ensuring they remain relevant and well calibrated.
  • Support demonstrable good governance of the Global Program, working alongside Privacy Officers to ensure robust privacy risk oversight practices and controls are in place; and
  • Lead strategic initiatives, including in relation to emerging technologies and electronic messaging, partnering with senior stakeholders across RBC.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Expertise in privacy, regulatory compliance and regulatory risk management practices.
  • Experience in senior roles within financial institutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong people management skills and a commitment to coaching and development.
  • Proven effective stakeholdering and communication skills.
  • University degree in law, business, finance, or a related field.

Nice-to-have

  • Privacy Accreditation (IAPP).
