About This Opportunity
We are seeking a Cleaning Supervisor to manage and supervise all Gatton, Toowoomba, and Ipswich based cleaning staff, and ensure delivery of outcomes in line with Quality Assurance documentation within the annual budgetary parameters. The position will assist in the management of service contracts in particularly those contracts relating to waste management.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Supervise cleaning staff to ensure the implementation of effective and efficient systems of collection of waste streams, litter and graffiti control, and the provision of an emergency cleaning response.

The complete management of routine cleaning of in-house cleaned buildings, allocation of duties with attention to daily availability of labour.

Assist in managing departmental expenditure on materials and labour in relation to Gatton based operations in order to deliver appropriate services within the annual budgetary parameters.

Planning and implementing periodical cleaning, window cleaning and related services.

Oversee waste contract service delivery and ensure waste management systems conform with Environmental Management Systems and Quality Assurance procedures, including appropriate record keeping.

Oversee the cleaning contract service delivery including auditing of the contractor services ensuring compliance with the contract scope.

Monitor stock levels of consumable items and prepare purchase orders and check and prepare invoices for payment in accordance with procurement policies.

Liaising with building contacts auditing buildings to ensure that cleaning outcomes satisfy customer requirements, within budgetary constraints.

Complying with the requirements of the Qld Occupational Health and Safely legislation, Environmental and Quality policies and related OH&S responsibilities and procedures developed by the University or division.

Other duties in line with classification of the position as reasonably directed by the manager.
This is Full-time positions, continuing (Permanent) position. At HEW Level 5, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range of $75,878.89 to $84,342.92 plus a generous super allowance of up to 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $88,778.30 – $98,681.22 per annum.
About You
-
Completion of a Certificate IV and extensive relevant work experience; or completion of a post-trades certificate and extensive (typically more than two (2) years) relevant experience as a technician; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.

Experience in a service industry and demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate a large team of staff.
-
Experience in training staff, assessing staff productivity and identifying training needs.
-
Experience in management of resources and in the preparation and controls of budgets.
-
Knowledge of the divisions policies and procedures and particular knowledge of the procedures involved in routing and periodic cleaning of the university buildings.

Knowledge of the processes involved in reviewing and documenting quality assurance procedures.
-
Competence in the interpretation and application of policy and procedures and an ability to exercise initiative and make sound judgements.

Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Ability to create positive team culture and develop good working relationships with external and internal customers.
-
Ability to prioritise own workload, work independently and meet deadlines.
-
Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise work to successfully deal with competing demands.
