LPG Technical Leader
Major Energy Company seeks experienced LPG Process Engineer for Major Project in Africa
Challenge:
Contribute to a landmark project in Uganda by leading the LPG package in a demanding, yet rewarding environment. Ensure timely completion and maximize national content while prioritizing HSE excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee EPC contractor performance, ensure adherence to contracts and HSE requirements.
- Lead HSE implementation for the LPG plant, representing the company’s technical authority for safety design.
- Act as focal point for all LPG technical matters, managing detailed engineering and coordinating stakeholder communication.
- Manage design reviews, deviation requests, and interface identification/resolution.
- Provide technical support to various disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct and monitor HAZOP/HAZID studies, ensuring thorough follow-up and implementation.
- Support procurement activities with technical expertise and quality control procedures.
- Participate in constructability reviews and co-activities/SIMOPS planning.
- Oversee construction phase technical support and interface management.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators for engineering and procurement.
- Identify and mitigate potential technical impacts on the project.
- Provide technical support to the base case project regarding LPG integration.
- Manage technical discussions with stakeholders for alignment with specifications and market demands.
- Participate in contractor selection and award recommendation for the EPSCC LPG contract.
- Deputize the LPG Package Leader as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in oil & gas industry and gas processing projects.
- Proven experience in a similar position leading LPG package development.
- Detailed engineering management experience on complex E&P projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of EPSCC contractor detailed engineering management.
- Familiarity with all phases of oil & gas project development, ideally with both EPC & Operator side experience.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to adapt and represent the company in technical discussions.
- Strong commitment to HSE principles and project success.
Context and Environment:
- This project aims to minimize GHG emissions by recovering associated gas from production.
- Landlocked and environmentally sensitive location in Uganda, requiring careful logistics and planning.
- Concurrent construction with the Central Processing facilities, necessitating strong interface management.
- Demanding schedule driven by the project’s startup target.
