The Opportunity
Are you an experienced and dedicated physiotherapy professional with a passion for education and leadership? We are actively seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Professor and Head of Department of Physiotherapy at Monash University.
The Monash University Department of Physiotherapy aims to advance health and wellness through best practice in education and research in an environment that is progressive and supportive for both educators and students.
Our courses are designed around case-based learning with fully integrated curriculum that combines self-directed learning opportunities with high quality lectures and tutorials. Staff who teach in the program have either completed formal postgraduate studies in education or undertake ongoing informal education in teaching best practice.
A strong emphasis on finding interdisciplinary solutions to health problems flows through all the School’s courses. Students gain an understanding of how they can work with other primary healthcare professions.
As the Professor and Head of Department in Physiotherapy, your key responsibilities will include:
- Curriculum Development: Shape the academic curriculum to reflect the latest advancements in physiotherapy
- Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the department, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and academic excellence
- Research: Encourage and facilitate research initiatives within the department
- Student Engagement: Foster a supportive learning environment for students, ensuring both their academic and personal growth
