The salary for this permanent Consultant Psychiatrist job is £214,113 – £257,193 per annum.

Shift Pattern:
- Full time
- 37 hours per week, with an on-call commitment
Duties:
- Participate in the development and undertaking of all duties and functions pertinent to the Consultant’s area of competence and in line with policies as specified by the Clinical Director
- Work closely with the Clinical Director to support the development and delivery of operational and strategic plans
- Advise the Clinical Director of clinical priorities and pressures, and be an active participant in strategic development discussions
- Provide for and ensure the delivery of positive patient and resident outcomes and with the continued strive for excellence
- Manage clinical team members as designated by the Clinical Director
- Liaise with clinical colleagues, the Clinical Director, Director of Nursing, Medical Officer and other clinical disciplines to ensure that activities across the centre are appropriately co-ordinated and integrated
- Develop new and innovative ways of delivering excellent clinical services
- Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE and Mental Health Commission requirements
- Ensure that a positive working relationship with external partners including Health Service Executive, Private Health Insurers and other Academic Institutions is maintained
- Ensure that systems are in place to deliver accurately and in a timely fashion, all statutory information requirements including Data Protection and Freedom of Information
- Participate in systems to provide clinical information to staff that enables them to benchmark and audit their practice so as to improve the patient and resident’s experience
- Communicate regularly with all staff in the Hospital
- Facilitate the maintenance of professional clinical competence
- Foster an open and inclusive style of working which facilitates positive relationships
- Participate fully in performance management framework
- Ensure the highest standards of clinical effectiveness in the Hospital, including the delivery of local and national recommendations, including Mental Health Commission, HSE guidelines, College of Psychiatry of Ireland guidelines, and other national reports
- Place and maintain patient safety at the centre of all activity
- Maintain one’s own professional competence and development to a high stand
