Position Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated Research Assistant 2 to work on the development of a new and highly specific ELISA kit for clinical application, based on antibodies already developed by our laboratory.
The incumbent will be involved in the generation of new antibodies and the validation of their specificity. For these purposes the candidate will be expected to manage different techniques such as the generation of monoclonal antibodies, Cell culture, Western blot, ELISA, affinity purification of antibodies, Immunocytochemistry.
In addition, they will also be expected too:
-Attend regular meetings.
-Summarize progress reports.
-Prepare methodological texts for publications, reports, and lab presentations.
-Prepare, maintain, and update research materials.
-Develop and optimize research protocols
Qualifications:
– Master’s in Biological Sciences
– Prior experience or knowledge in the specific area of ELISA kit development and clinical application is an asset.
Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 on a scale of 0-4.
Hourly Salary: $30.00
