GSL Education are currently seeking Teaching assistants for a Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) school based in Southampton. This is a specialist school that provides all the specific needs for pupils aged (11-16) who have difficulty managing social interactions and struggle recognising and regulating their emotions. Many of the pupils have a diagnosis (or identified traits) of an Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).
The ideal candidate for this kind of work:
- Relevant experience with learning difficulties and complex needs
- Must have a positive, resilient personality that is engaging
- Can provide 1-1 support or support a teacher with small groups activities
- Able to work in a challenging setting with patience and understanding
- Knowledge of PECS or Makaton would be of an advantage

- £80 – £90 Day rate
- Full Time – 8:30am – 3:30pm
