Dalhousie University’s Faculty of Medicine invites applications for the prestigious Quigley Family Endowed Chair in Rheumatology or Arthritis. This position offers a unique opportunity for an accomplished candidate to join the Division of Rheumatology at the Nova Scotia Health Authority and Dalhousie University as a key researcher. The primary objective of the Chair is to advance research in arthritis and related conditions, aiming to enhance outcomes for both current and future patients while providing access to cutting-edge treatments in Nova Scotia.

The incumbent will act as a catalyst for securing further research and program funding, fostering collaborative relationships with policymakers, administrators, and practitioners at local, provincial, regional, national, and international levels.

Applicants must hold an MD with FRCPC or equivalent training in rheumatology and demonstrate a proven track record or potential for independent scholarship in rheumatology research. Success in obtaining peer-reviewed publications and research funding, as well as experience advising leadership on research and outcomes for patients with arthritis, is highly desirable.

The successful candidate will receive a continuing academic appointment in the Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology, Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University. This clinician-researcher position also includes a Continuing Appointment with the Faculty of Medicine at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level, along with Medical Staff or Affiliated Medical Staff status in accordance with Nova Scotia Health Authority policies. The Chair is a five-year limited-term appointment with the possibility of renewal following a review in the fourth year of each term.

Candidates will enjoy a minimum of 50% protected time for research, contributing to the Division of Rheumatology’s commitment to advancing patient care through research, education, and clinical practice.
