Procurement Associate –
Hours: 8:00 to 4:30
This person must present a professional image and be able to accomplish several tasks daily with tight deadlines. Candidates must possess proven multi-tasking abilities, be punctual and very personable; outgoing and customer service focused. This is an in-office role.
The Procurement Associates provides support nationally to Marsh and Mercer. Assisting other Marsh/Mercer offices and colleagues as a subject matter expert. Strong software skills are needed.

Daily tasks:
Place orders via an Oracle procurement system
Provide customers with quotes from approved vendors
Quality check incoming orders
Complete end to end buying process – monitor orders placed, follow up on approval process and complete receipting
Respond to vendors inquiries
Work with Marsh & McLennan’s Procurement team on any supplier issues
Other tasks as assigned
?Purpose:
This position will be working in a research facility in Mississauga. The candidate will be the administrator of our internal purchase order system. This role will also be accountable for full-cycle accounts payable duties.
Main Responsibilities:
- Receive and enter all purchase orders into our accounting platform (Sun Systems)
- Obtain quotes from vendors for technical supplies and chemicals
- Purchases all orders on behalf from staff
- Perform weekly cheque runs
- Point of contact between the Centre and vendors
- Manage the records retention process
Education Requirements:
Education Level (College, Bachelor, Masters, Ph.D, etc.)
Community College or equivalent
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
Prior Accounts Payable experience
Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year experience
Candidate Background – Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Possess very strong attention to detail
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 environment an asset
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate information clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing at all levels of seniority, both formally and informally
- Contributes fully to an effective team environment; demonstrates willingness to work cooperatively with others to achieve shared goals
- Strong problem solving skills
- Can work with minimal supervision
