Glasgow Life is looking for a Lead Sport and Physical Activity Coach to join us across a 20 hour part time permanent contract. As a Lead Sport and Physical Activity Coach you will be part of a dedicated team which supports young people and adults with a disability to be physically active and engage in a range of activities.
As a Lead Sport and Physical Activity Coach you’ll be joining our Glasgow Life Sport team, playing your part in encouraging people to live an active Glasgow life. Through sport and physical activity, we promote inclusion and wellbeing throughout the city. The role
As a Lead Sport and Physical Activity Coach you’ll be an integral part of the team by delivering and implementing a comprehensive programme which includes boccia, gym, fitness and swimming sessions to young people and adults with a disability. Reporting to the Sport and Physical Activity Officer (Cohesion) and working alongside an established team of coaching staff.
If you’re interested in joining us as a Lead Sport and Physical Activity Coach you’ll need:

• Either a Scottish Swimming Teaching Qualification (SSTQ)/ equivalent and/or a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification
• Considerable experience of working with people with a disability
• Able to easily engage, communicate with and motivate people with a disability
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to work effectively in a team

Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme will be essential on taking up appointment. Please note successful candidates for the above position will be required to pay for their PVG Membership/or Scheme Checks.

The Lead coach will be working, for example Monday to Thursday 9.45am – 3.15pm
