The role
NU London wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Data Science. You will support Data Science teaching at the University, primarily at undergraduate level (Levels 4-6). Appointments will be commensurate with experience and qualifications reflecting a record of demonstrated teaching excellence.
Core duties will include development and provision of innovative and inclusive teaching in relevant areas of Data Science at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (e.g., Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced Programming with Data; Foundations of Data Science; Data Engineering; Human Computer Interaction; and Information Visualisation).
Preference may be given to candidates with active interests in the relationship of Data Science to one or more of the following areas: financial technologies, data-driven humanities and social sciences, cognitive science, information visualisation, machine learning, and applied engineering.
Person Specification
To excel in this role, you will have the following skills and experience, or transferable skills.
- Master’s degree, or equivalent professional experience, in a relevant area.
- PhD completed, or near completion (all but dissertation), or equivalent professional experience, in a relevant area (desirable).
- FHEA status, or equivalent, achieved or expected (desirable).
- Can demonstrate, through evidence, excellent ability to be adaptable, innovative, and inclusive in teaching.
- Ability to develop excellent educational provision in areas with significant appeal to students with a focus on experiential learning.

We are hoping to move to a timetable where Wednesday afternoon’s are available for student clubs/ activities and staff CPD.
