Position Summary Information

Advertisement The Nursing Department at St. Catherine University invites applications for a eleven (11) month, fulltime, faculty position for the academic year 2024-2025.
The School of Nursing is vibrant and dynamic, and our faculty educate students to develop the knowledge, technical skills, and professionalism they will need to be compassionate and successful nurses and leaders. Our nursing programs and curricula are delivered in an environment that embraces multicultural and social justice perspectives, relationships, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the liberal arts. This faculty position responsibilities are to:

  • Facilitates student learning in assigned courses by teaching and advising a diverse student population, modeling socialization to nursing roles, and referring students to appropriate University services.
  • Evaluates student learning in assigned courses.
  • Assesses, designs, teaches, and evaluates curricular content and learning experiences in assigned courses to promote student learning outcomes.
  • Maintains curricular integrity by ensuring course content promotes achievement of course student learning outcomes identified in the POS curriculum map.
  • Selects methods and tools to assess, measure, and evaluate student learning outcomes in assigned courses.
  • Uses identified assessment methods to evaluate achievement of student learning outcomes in assigned courses.
  • Provides clear, timely, and specific evaluative feedback to students about course assignments and/or clinical performance.
  • Participates in and/or completes the faculty course evaluation form at the end of the course.
  • Integrates evaluative findings in the course improvement process.
  • Engages in scholarship activities that develop expertise and ability to fulfill faculty responsibilities.
  • Contributes to professional development of faculty colleagues through peer review, mentoring, consultation, and scholarship activities.
  • Models and mentors relational presence that is rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and consistent with the mission and values of St. Catherine University and the DoN vision, mission, and philosophy.
  • Serves on POS, DoN, and/or University committees.

Minimum Qualifications Master’s degree in nursing with evidence of tested experience
OR
Baccalaureate degree in nursing AND master’s degree in related field with evidence of tested experience
Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree in nursing preferred
OR
Doctoral degree in related field AND master’s degree in nursing with evidence of tested experience
