Tradewind Manchester is seeking a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant to work one-on-one with a child at a reputable school in Stockport.
Position: Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester Start Date: Immediate Hours: Full-time
About the Role: In this rewarding role, you will provide dedicated support to a child with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The successful candidate will offer personalised attention, fostering a nurturing environment where the child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in supporting vulnerable children and a genuine commitment to inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the child on a one-on-one basis, providing tailored support to meet their individual needs.
- Assist the child with their academic studies, helping to facilitate their learning and development.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment, promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate effectively with the school’s SENCO, teachers, and other support staff to ensure the child’s needs are met comprehensively.
Requirements:
- Experience working with vulnerable children, preferably in an educational setting.
- A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with children and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEMH needs.
