Job description
Valtech is looking for a junior QA Engineer to join our team of highly talented software test professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior tester to work closely with our QA team to receive mentoring and support to progress into a fully rounded QA professional. Are you based in the UK? You and the role
We are looking for a somebody with a passion for testing, Ideally you will have a Computer Science degree/qualification and 6 to 12 months QA/Test experience.
You must be able to demonstrate a keen eye for detail and have the rigor to complete complex and sometimes repetitive tasks and processes.
We are looking for an inquisitive mind that demands to know how solutions work so you can develop innovative methods to test and break these solutions.
You must be able to work collaboratively within a team and know when to ask for support and guidance.
With mentoring and support you can expect over the course of the first 12 months to be introduced to and gain commercial experience across the full spectrum of QA activities and function/automation test fundamentals including:
- Test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright and Cypress
- API testing with tools such as Cypress and Postman
- Proficiency in version control systems such as Git
- Basic programming concepts
- CI/CD tools such as teamcity and GitHub Actions
- Test Management using Jira
- Monitoring tools such as DataDog
- Browser developer tools
- Testing strategies
- Accessibility and Analytics.
