East Cooper Montessori Charter School (ECMCS) of Mount Pleasant, SC, is looking to hire a Middle School ELA and Social Studies Teacher for the 24-25 school year. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ECMCS MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER
As our middle school teacher, you are critical to our school community’s lifeblood. Your Montessori classroom is warm, inviting, and collaborative. You inspire students through project learning, outdoor education, and using creativity in all endeavors. Your student load is approximately 50 students in a community of approximately 100, making student-teacher relationships unparalleled. You also form the deep connections with families you know lead to better student performance. The multidisciplinary approach allows you to work closely with your professional team to plan and execute weekly experiences Beyond the Classroom Walls and travel with students to the Model Montessori United Nations in NY, experience our nation’s government in Washington DC, understand the civil rights through the Savannah, and physical endurance through hiking. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A ELA & SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER
- SC state certification for teaching ELA & Social Studies
- Teaching experience preferably in Montessori or willingness to receive Montessori training
- Knowledge about effective and innovative instructional and student evaluation techniques
- True passion for the art of teaching and learning
