What you’ll be doing

In this role you’ll mainly support Internal Audit in the OSFI Assurance on Capital and Liquidity. You will have the opportunity to participate and provide leadership in large and highly complex audits in the Finance and Treasury areas of the Bank. You’ll provide an independent opinion on the design and effectiveness of operational and management controls in accordance with the CIBC Audit and industry best practices and develop and maintain strong relationships with business partners.

How you’ll succeed

Participate and manage execution of audit assignments – Identify and fully understand the key business processes, their inherent risk, and the control environment. Participate in risk based audit activities, assess relevant processes and controls, and provide an independent opinion on their design and operating effectiveness.

Audit reporting – Identify business control weaknesses, and objectively assess the severity and materiality of the issues and their potential impact on the business. Work with business management to develop action plans based on realistic and workable solutions, to mitigate the risk and exposure in the long term.

Continuous improvement – Provide effective and timely communication on risk and issues with influence and judgment to create positive outcomes. Look for ways to enhance audit guidelines and practice development and to improve efficiency and audit experience.

Who you are

You can demonstrate experience in and have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the business, products, risks, processes and related controls within areas of responsibility incl. but not limited to Treasury, Finance and Capital Markets with minimum of 3 years of proven and progressive experience in audit, accounting or other equivalent experience. It’s an asset if you have a professional designation/certification such as CPA, CFA, FRM, CIA.
