We are currently looking for a Stores Operative to join our Stores and Supply team. The role will be based at our Mountsorrel Quarry, Quorn, near to Loughborough in Leicestershire. This role is commutable from Loughborough, Leicester, Nottingham, Coalville, Shepshed, Syston, Melton Mowbray, Derby, Swadlincote, Oakham and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility
Reporting to the Stores Supervisor, as our Stores Operative, you will be responsible for undertaking all stores activities to ensure maximum reliability of all stores to support team members in all aspects of plant operation.
Your responsibilities in this role will include (not exhaustive):
- Receiving and goods-receipting deliveries
- Managing stock in stores, with a keen eye for accuracy and control of items
- Managing stock and spares information on our in-house systems, providing accountability for stock
- Putting-away and picking stock
- Delivering and collecting items throughout site, to include post and parcels
- Keep up the 5s standards that are a key element within Tarmac
- Maintenance of stores vehicles, ensuring DI’s are carried out and defects reported
Working relationships will be with Stores Team, Engineering Services, Site Services, Finance, Administrative Teams, Hub, Laboratory Services, Asphalt Service, Quarry Services, Delivery and Courier companies, P2P, suppliers and other sites
The Ideal Candidate
The role of Stores Operative is a varied, complex and rewarding position that requires:
- Experience working in a ‘heavy stores’ manufacturing or engineering environment would prove highly beneficial
- Familiarity with using SAP or equivalent CMMS systems, along with Microsoft Office
- Full UK Manual Car Driving Licence
- Forklift licence would prove highly beneficial; although not essential as training will be given
ESSENTIAL – Full UK car driving licence with no more than 6 points as you will have access to a company vehicle for this role in visiting other sites
