Are you up for an enriching challenge? We are on the lookout for dynamic individuals to become part of our dedicated team of Teaching Assistants at Tradewind.
The school is currently seeking a skilled Teaching Assistant to provide support to a pupil with Special Educational Needs in Key Stage 2, requiring personalised assistance. To be eligible for this position, candidates should have a proven track record of supporting pupils with special needs in their developmental journey. They should also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, the ability to actively engage pupils, adjust tasks according to academic levels, and possess a thorough understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities learning.
This role will include:
- Supporting a KS2 child with SEND, usually on a 1:1 basis
- Taking responsibility for the safeguarding of the young person in your care
- Supporting the school team to provide a stimulating, safe and nurturing environment for pupils to learn
About the school
This three-form entry school has strong and cohesive leadership, and high expectations combined with the diverse curriculum inspires and motivates pupils across a range of subjects. Teaching quality is good and the social, moral, spiritual and cultural understanding and development of pupils is excellent. SEND pupils are well-supported through targeted assistance.
The competitive pay rate for this position is between Β£76 and Β£85 per day, depending on experience. This position will commence after February halt-temr on a full-time basis. You will be required for the rest of the academic year with the possibility of extension.
About you
The successful Teaching Assistant will be responsible for the progress and attainment of a high achieving KS2 class. In addition to this, you will work collaboratively with the class teacher and support the academic attainment of child with additional needs on and one-to-one basis.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Assist teachers in delivering lessons, managing classroom activities, and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Provide one-on-one support to pupils with learning challenges, ensuring their understanding of the curriculum
- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials, including setting up equipment and organising resources for lessons
- Build a positive rapport with all pupils based on trust and mutual respect
- Work effectively as a team player with the key stage and wider staff to share advice, resources and best practice
Essential Requirements:
-Excellent references to support previous experience in KS2
-A CV that covers the last 10 years employment history with any CV gaps explained
-The right to work in the UK
