If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are able to maintain the delivery of efficient and effective banking support services, while adhering to established operating procedures and policies, this role is for you!The Manager, Banking Support is responsible for leading and managing Banking Support Officers and Wire Analysts who support the branch network by completing transaction processing, administration, and onboarding. They lead a team which is critical in supporting our business through high-volume, peak periods and processes transactions/requests that can be high-risk and offer limited recourse.This includes:
- Payments: payment and deposit transactions including those of significant high risk (wires, EFTs, cheques, bill payments, clearing rejects, etc).
- Registered: RRSP, RRIF, TFSA and related registered maintenance (tax amendments, etc)
- Cash Management: CAFT, Business Online Banking, Online Wires, Business Visa, Corporate RDC
- Estates: administration and settlement of estate accounts
The role will build strong relationships and collaborate with other leaders & teams across the centralized operations group to drive a high level of operational effectiveness which aligns with organizational goals and strategic objectives.What you’ll be doingPlay-to-win Leadership
- Direct management and leadership oversight of a team; including employees and contractors. This includes effective hiring, talent development, performance management and reward processes and programs across areas of responsibility that positively impact attraction, motivation, engagement, and retention of best-in-class talent.
- Drive progression and development of direct reports through cascading of accountability and ensuring effective performance management standards are followed.
- Lead the build and maintenance of key performance indicators within specialization stream, providing recommendations and implementing changes to targets as required to contribute to the evolution of Operations’ performance culture.
Business Support
- Model a client-centric approach for team members and coach where required to ensure a client-focused lens is used in providing services to the branch network.
- Monitor and report on achievement of Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets; when SLA targets are not met, identify root causes, escalate and contribute to creating an appropriate action plan to address them.
- Identify gaps in standard operating procedures, provide recommendations for improvements and assist with documentation to drive consistent and predictable daily outcomes, and strong data integrity.
- Identify and escalate issues related to policy, procedures or specific branch or client situations.
- Actively participate as a subject matter expert and contributor in projects and initiatives within area of expertise, meeting timeframes as established/assigned by leadership.
- Identify opportunities to increase capacity and efficiency of the wires processing team and contribute to the creation of a plan to enhance and create efficiencies.
Administration
- Ensure proper controls are in place and monitor daily operations to ensure controls are working optimally to mitigate risks associated with the processes executed within the Branch Banking Support team.
- Prepare and regularly review annual goals and career development plan with manager/supervisor
- Continual learning and development of personal goals to remain current in industry knowledge as well as assist to fulfill the Bank’s and individual’s succession planning goals.
Who we’re looking for & what you’ve doneEducation
- Post Secondary Education in Business, Finance or a related field
Professional Experience
- Minimum 7 years of proven experience, preferably in operations within banking, project management, and centralized or support.
- Minimum 3 years of management and leadership experience including the management of people leaders.
- Experience working within the financial sector is an asset.
- Proven ability to continuously improve processes.

- Sophisticated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and perform tasks of a complex nature in defined time frames.
