Job descriptionSEMH Maths TeacherAre you an experienced SEMH Teacher that is looking to start a new role?Can you confidently teach all subjects?Do you have strong behaviour management?This SEMH School is looking for an experienced SEMH Maths Teacher who can start ASAP on a full-time basis. You will be responsible for 6-8 students in class with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. Due to the students needs some will be working towards their Maths GCSEs and others working at a much lower level. When teaching you will have support from a Teaching Assistant who will be there to help set up the class, support the students and manage their behaviour.The SchoolA co-educational maintained community special school for pupils aged between 10 and 16, who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP). In most cases the primary identified need is Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural difficulties, although the majority of pupils have additional special educational needs such as Autism, Attention Deficit Difficulties AD(H)D, Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), conduct disorders and attachment difficulties.They promote the highest standards of educational achievement at all levels and provide a broad and balanced education experience and curriculum, personalised according to need. - Qualified Teacher Status (DfE Number)
- Subject specialism: Maths
- Calming mannerisms in challenging situations
- Strong behaviour management skills while creating a fun learning environment
- Driven to motivate the pupil and increase his participation
- The ability to grow individual personal development
- Be caring, patient and have good communication skills
- Be self-reflective, have a willingness to learn and demonstrate initiative
- Experience supporting an individual with Autism
- Willing to complete Safeguarding online training
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
- Hold right to work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references
