Consultancy services provided to the Pension Administration of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund to support its cultural transformation efforts, to align it with the Pension Fund CARE strategy, to help address feedback from culture surveys and to maintain and mainstream improvements.Work LocationNew YorkExpected duration9 monthsDuties and ResponsibilitiesThe United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) was established in 1949 by the United Nations General Assembly to provide retirement, death, disability, and related benefits for staff of the United Nations and other member organizations of the Fund. The Pension Fund pays benefits in 17 currencies to more than 80,000 beneficiaries who reside in 190 countries, and services more than 134,000 participants who work in the 25 member organizations of the Pension Fund. The Fund has offices in New York (United States) and Geneva (Switzerland) and two liaison offices in Nairobi (Kenya) and Bangkok (Thailand)/ The Business Support Section (BSS) of the UNJSPF provides the full spectrum of operational support and other advisory services aimed at promoting a working culture. BSS is seeking to engage a consultant in conjunction with the culture improvement efforts. The consultant will report to the Deputy Chief Executive Pension Administration and Chief Business Support Section. The consultants will be responsible for: a. Provide guidance and coaching to staff who volunteer on culture improvement. b. Assist the volunteers to design and focus on commitments; help design a plan and adequate approach and structure. Propose and identify ways to mainstream the culture transformation process. This involves seeking feedback, learning from success and failures, and staying up to date with best practice. c. Interviews with key leadership and select staff members/volunteers. Review the background information, existing progress and lessons learned from experience. d. Conduct onsite teambuilding engagement(s), based on needs assessment and interviews or as required. e. Coach the teams and individuals to ensure follow-up on the action, to maintain momentum and delivery of activities and commitments. f. Communicate regularly with stakeholders including at the Senior Management level to seek feedback and keep them abreast on progress on the culture transformation initiatives. This involves presenting to senior leaders, facilitating discussion with staff members, and writing update reports.Qualifications/special skillsA university degree (Recognized 1st level bachelor’s degree) in Education, Performance counseling, psychology, career development, human resources, and/or other relevant areas is required. Professional certification in coaching such as International Coaching Federation (ICF), Professional certified Coach (PCC) or equivalent is required. Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in change management, culture improvement, organizational management and transformation, preferably in a public sector or international organization, is required A minimum of two (2) years of experience in providing coaching and facilitation services, in the UN or in International Organizations is required Experience in communicating in front of large and senior audiences is required.LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the UN. For this vacancy, fluency in English language is required.
