End Date Saturday 20 April 2024Salary Range £62,874 – £69,860Flexible Working Options Job Share, Other Agile Working Arrangements / Open to DiscussionJob Description Summary .Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: General Insurance Business Partner – FTC until February 2025LOCATION(S): LeedsSalary; £62,874 – £69,860HOURS: Full timeWORKING PATTERN: Hybrid, 40% (or two days) in an office siteAbout this opportunityWe’re looking for an experienced Finance Business partner to join us in a contract until February of 2025. In this role you’ll be responsible for Business partnering the General Insurance leadership team to drive improved performance and support delivery of the target income & profit. Challenging to ensure that decision making is effective, targets are realistic and that profit is sustainable over the longer term. You’ll play a key role in strategic projects and pricing changes through challenging assumptions and modelling the impact of any proposed business change.Day to day you’ll be;

  • Providing financial and commercial modelling to support the delivery of initiatives, responding to the changing regulatory environment and support ongoing trading.
  • Owning, controlling and managing risks of appraisal models and hurdle rates, managing the accuracy of model inputs and outputs.
  • Presenting Management Reports to senior stakeholders, ensuring that results and issues are well understood and explained in a way that is relevant to the business.
  • Working with the Planning team, preparing regular forecasts including group-level quarterly forecast and four-year Operating Plans. Supporting and challenging the business so that the plans produced are robust, with well-understood risks and opportunities.
  • Supporting the Head of GI & Protection Business Partnering in building and maintaining a hardworking team, ensuring colleagues are developed effectively, utilising the Group’s Your Best principles
  • Providing insight, development & reporting of new & existing forms of metrics to meet the needs of customers.

  • Finance professional with a consistent record gained in a range of roles, ideally with Business Partnering experience.
  • Qualified accountant.
  • Experience of building and establishing positive relationships with key customers. Forming and talking through clear and tailored communications at all levels of the organisation and supporting colleagues to provide insightful analysis.
  • A record of attaining results – Consistently achieving results, delivering to timelines; challenging poor outcomes or unproductive behaviours. Helping colleagues to overcome obstacles.
  • Financial Planning & Forecasting Expertise – Managing finances so that goals can be achieved, negotiating financial barriers, and using appropriate methods to predict outcomes.

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • Organisational awareness – Navigating comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organisational dynamics, bringing initiatives to the attention of those who can act as champions and advocates.
  • An ability to influence – Using compelling arguments to gain the support and dedication of others. Crafting passion by building a compelling case, which you share in a timely and upbeat way to secure wide support.
  • Experience of Financial Services and General Insurance desirable, but not essential.
