Job DescriptionINSTRUCTOR, PRACTICAL NURSE DIPLOMA FOR INTERNATIONALLY EDUCATED NURSESFACULTY OF HEALTH STUDIESNorQuesters are difference makers and we’re looking for someone dedicated to finding ways forward to join our Faculty of Health Studies team at our Edmonton campus as a Clinical Instructor in our Practical Nurse Diploma for Internationally Educated Nurses (PNDIEN) program.Graduates of NorQuest College’s PNDIEN program are also Difference Makers in terms of the health care that Albertans receive. Our students enter the program with previous education and experience in health care. Our role is to support and bridge the gap of Canadian Health care transition. Through a combination of theory and hands-on learning in multiple modes of delivery, students are prepared for their clinical experiences and future Canadian nursing careers. We are proud of the varied and robust learning experiences in our programs delivering coursing through innovative modalities. We utilize low and high-fidelity simulation to augment the learner experience, providing students with a safe learning environment to practice and reflect.Our instructors take pride in making a positive impact on the lives of the students they teach. Join us and help them achieve their goals.We are looking for a full time term position until June 30, 2025.HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCEAs a NorQuest Instructor, you will facilitate learning in in a variety of health care settings in Edmonton and surrounding area, so the ability to travel to these sites is a requirement. Our clinical sites include both acute and continuing care.Instructors help our learners acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitude to be successful and safe practitioners within their scope of practice. You will need to possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and have a passion for providing instruction and feedback that allows our students to apply skills in a safe and patient-centered way.WHAT YOU BRING

  • A Practical Nurse Diploma with relevant Degree or currently working on a Degree.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is an asset.
  • At least 1 year of full-time clinical nursing or nursing education experience (or the equivalent in part-time experience).
  • Lived experience as an Internationally Educated Nurse or at least two years’ experience working with IENs in an education setting is an asset.
  • CRNA or CLPNA registration.
  • Current CPR.
  • Previous formal or informal teaching experience is an asset.

SALARY: Reflective upon what you bring, AKA your education and experience. We are looking for a full time term position until June 30, 2025 with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.Should you be the successful candidate, your salary will be determined based on your related education and relevant experience. For example, an Instructor with a bachelor’s degree plus five years of relevant clinical experience would be gridded at $2,861.96 biweekly, in accordance with the current NorQuest College the .We offer flexible work options.
