From financing loans to solving business challenges to goal realizations!The opportunityAs a Documentation Specialist you will be part of our integral Loan Administration team. Most deals we handle are structured, complex and sector specific, which will mean having a deep understanding of the documentation process from origination up to the time of booking and funding. You’ll not only be managing this process, but also coordinating loan and security document production and compliance, while reviewing and collecting (sometimes chasing!) conditions prior to close. Effective and customer focused communication will serve you well as you connect with external counsel, clients, and vendors for coordinating deals.Specific AccountabilitiesCustomer experience. Documentation. Compliance.Proactively driving transactions to completion by timely meeting documentation and process requirements and influencing others to meet deadlines while effectively maintaining relationships between customers, internal departments, etc.Determining documentation requirements based on transaction structure after review of commitments and other approval documentation and prepare and obtain such documentation.Anticipating and resolving documentation issues, as well as advocate and recommend solutions and alternatives to satisfy customer needs after balancing against risk and business requirements.Reviewing and validating accuracy of document package prior to sending to customer.Corresponding with clients both verbally and in writing regarding loan administration and client inquiries.Updating mainframe (AIMS) with accurate dealer/vendor information.Ensuring proper security registrations and insurance coverages are in place, to ensure that all transactions are properly executed at the client level.Ensuring compliance with all transaction requirements using prudent practice and commercial lending standards.Managing and maintaining all follow-up requirements associated with transactions and complete within business guidelines.Leveraging technology to simplify internal processes.Driving accountable culture to improve Customer Experience.Acting as primary interface between all parties involved in the transaction and documentation process (Commercial, Legal, Underwriting, Portfolio Management, Operations).Skills and competencies that will take you furtherBi-lingual (English & French).Client focused. You work well with your team while striving to meet personal goals.Foundational knowledge and experience to grow fromA degree or diploma hangs on your wall that highlights your expertise in administration, legal, or business. You’ve spent 2+ years working in a documentation, financial services of customer service-oriented role and have had experience drafting contracts. Any formal law clerk training or certification would be a definite asset and good to bring forward in your cover letter! You know your way around provincial security registration systems and can review cross-Canada searches and know how to register personal property liens & other securities as required. Most importantly, you are tech savvy. Microsoft Office Suite is the base foundation of your knowledge, and you have no troubles learning new software on the fly!
