We are searching for people who want to join us in building “Technology for Life”.The Fire Service Specialist – Eastern Canada is responsible for expanding sales revenue and brand recognition for Draeger Canada’s portfolio of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Fire Training Solutions in the highly competitive Emergency and Rescue Services market. The role requires a hunter mentality, someone who is highly comfortable prospecting within the largest competitor accounts. The successful incumbent must reside within the territory, preferably in the province of Ontario.Main Accountabilities:
- Strategic Market Development – Working closely with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) to identify and prospect potential target end-users & prioritizes accounts and opportunities to produce the best results using both direct and indirect sales channels and strategies
- Relationship Management – Maintaining and developing working relationships with Draeger’s key customers and end users in the Fire Service market
- Value Selling – Conducting research as part of the pre-call planning process to identify key decision makers & influencers, and to anticipate customer needs
- Distributor Management – Working in parallel with the RSMs to build strong relationships with distributor partners at multiple levels within the account, including sales people, sales managers, and key decision makers. Trains and motivates distributor personnel in the use and sale of Draeger products and services
- Sales Administration – Effectively utilizing all tools provided such as CRM, e-mail, Microsoft Office, presentation and spreadsheet software, etc. and maintaining accurate, up-to-date records
Education: Completion of Post-Secondary diploma or degree or 4+ years of proven sales experience in a highly competitive marketRelated Experience:
- Four or more year’s sales experience in selling equipment or products to the Fire Service preferred.
- Equivalent experience selling equipment in a highly competitive market to municipalities will be considered.
- Strong background in the fire service, in active of past position is an asset.
- Experience with live fire training systems and working knowledge of the NFPA Standards for training and protective equipment.
- Active or past position as a fire fighter or first responder.
Special Competencies/Certifications:
- This position requires high energy and unwavering commitment to bring world leading safety products to Canada’s first responders.
- Proven and persuasive live presentation skills to effectively convince the customer that Draeger is the ideal choice in a highly competitive sales environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
- Must be able to perform routine arithmetic calculations and have a complete understanding of pricing structures and gross margin.
- Must be able to understand the technical aspects of our products and their applications.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Valid international travel documents required.
- Bilingual (French and English) verbal and written skills preferred.
Working Conditions:
- This is deemed to be a Safety Sensitive position, where performance limitations (due to substance use, for example) could result in an incident or situation with the potential for high consequences. Therefore, you may be subject to post-employment drug or alcohol screenings, for example, prior to performing work at customer sites.
- Extensive travel will be required, by both plane and vehicle – which will involve routine traffic hazards.
- Based on customer availability, hours of work will include evenings and weekends.
- The candidate must reside within the territory.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds will be required.
