Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As Director, Investor Relations you will conduct extensive benchmarking and competitive analysis of peers while also tracking analyst expectations for RBC in an effort to develop messaging on RBC’s financial performance and strategy, and provide external perspectives to internal partners. The Director will also help drive quarterly reporting process, including overseeing disclosure matters and supporting certain enterprise projects, including annual rating agency reviews; as well as communicate with internal partners in order to answer questions on RBC’s disclosure and other industry-related issues. The Director will also play an integral role in the preparation for our upcoming investor day.What will you do?

  • Conduct benchmarking and competitive analysis on global peers, focusing on financial metrics and other elements of strategic differentiation.
  • Support research of key competitive themes and trends in an ad hoc advisory capacity.
  • Act as an internal collaborator and liaison for the development of industry specific insights in collaboration with strategy and finance teams.
  • Become a subject matter expert on topical areas of focus
  • Create, automate and maintain databases in an effort to develop meaningful insights and recommendations based on the data
  • Develop messaging on RBC’s financial performance and strategy, and in conjunction with internal partners, help create best-in-class disclosures throughout the year.
  • Help drive quarterly reporting process, including overseeing disclosure, and playing a key role on certain enterprise projects.
  • Help manage relationship with rating agencies, including the annual review process and coordination across the enterprise on rating agency issues and information requests

What do you need to succeed?Must-have

  • 5+ years’ previous experience, including investor relations, equity research, strategy consulting, asset management, investment banking, corporate development, or corporate treasury
  • Advanced knowledge and passion for the capital markets, economic drivers, and data analytics
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office, specifically, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Self-motivated, fast learner, highly organized, proactive and committed to quality and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with comfort reviewing complex documentation
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness and enjoys working in a fast-paced, high performance environment with multiple and evolving demands, and non-standard working hours

Nice-to-have

  • Financial institution sector experience and demonstrated aptitude for learning new businesses & concepts, such as ESG frameworks
  • MBA, undergraduate business/ finance degree, CFA or CPA
  • Financial modeling and accounting analysis skills, including equity valuation
