In this role you will be supporting our organization’s growth and success by ensuring all practitioners have the appropriate level of operational risk management capabilities and skills.Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As the Senior Manager of Learning you will play a crucial role in the development and delivery of Operational Risk training programs. In this role you will be supporting our organization’s growth and success by ensuring all practitioners have the appropriate level of operational risk management capabilities and skills.As part of the Strategy & Transformation team in GRM Operational Risk (OR) & COO Office, you will be responsible for supporting learning initiatives targeted to leaders, employees and partners within the OR – and across the global Enterprise.This is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in supporting transformation and change and can simplify complex concepts for a variety of audiences.What will you do?

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of Operational Risk learning programs aligned with RBC’s risk management framework and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify knowledge gaps and develop targeted training programs for all levels of employees
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand their learning needs,
  • Partner with HR to ensure learning activities in Operational Risk complement enterprise learning and development
  • Create engaging and innovative Operational Risk learning content using a variety of delivery methods, including live sessions, eLearning, events, self-serve resources and video
  • Oversee the delivery and administration of learning programs, ensuring high-quality execution and effective knowledge transfer
  • Collaborate with external vendors as needed to deliver specialized training programs
  • Facilitate and track attendance for mandatory learning
  • Develop metrics and reporting mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives
  • Use data-driven insights to continuously improve programs and strategies
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team

What do you need to succeed?Must-have

  • Bachelor’s degree in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Learning & Development, or a related discipline or an equivalent amount of professional experience
  • 8+ years of experience in developing and delivering training programs within a financial services or risk management environment
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and delivering learning programs, utilizing various methodologies and technologies
  • Proficiency in learning management systems, e-learning authoring tools, and other learning technologies
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to quickly build credibility and influence senior stakeholders
  • Thrive in a fast-moving environment, with high tolerance for change and ability to adapt

Nice-to-have

  • Previous experience working in Operational Risk Management
  • Video production and editing capabilities
  • Change management certification and/or experience
