Are you excited by the challenge of turning complex problems and constraints into simple elegant solutions that exceed customer’s needs and expectations?At Reuters we are building out our UX & Design capabilities across our products and we are looking for a lead designer with a vision towards creating connected multi-platform experiences and a robust toolkit who will help drive the evolution of Reuters Digital products into world-class experiences to join our team.About the Role:As a Lead User Experience Designer, you will:

  • Own the end-to-end design process – from initial planning to product design and polished visuals across your product area, with experience working across marketplace products.
  • Ensure that the customer voice and product vision are embedded across your work, and that work is prioritized with trade-offs recommended based on customer and business value.
  • Work hand in hand with design leadership and other team members to remove roadblocks as needed, and inform decision making across the rest of the team through ambiguity, ensuring decisions are grounded in data and UX best practices.
  • Manage project requirements and tasks across your product area, as well as delegate and prioritise workload for FTE and contract team members.
  • Collaborate closely and partner regularly with design team counterparts across Reuters Digital products.
  • Mentor junior team members across the design organisation.
  • Partner with the Research, Product and Engineering teams to drive clarity in product needs by helping define missing use cases, user stories and influence the overall solution.
  • Articulate a compelling vision for customers across your product line.
  • Create and facilitate technically and financially feasible integrated design decisions and solutions.
  • Partner closely with the UX Research team to help identify iterative improvements across your product area.

About You:To be our Lead User Experience Designer you will likely have:

  • 8+ years of application/product design experience
  • 2+ years in a lead role
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in UX/HCI or related field, or significant equivalent experience.
  • A thorough understanding and working knowledge of UX & Accessibility best practices, UXR methods, service design and design systems.
  • Confident in facilitating UX and design thinking-led workshops for key stakeholders across the business.
  • Experience working with design systems, design tokens and atomic design principles
  • A robust portfolio of previous product design work that illustrates some hands-on work as well as work created as a team. Portfolio showcases a proven track record of solving complex design problems with design led thinking that exhibits a clean, polished design aesthetic coupled with a passion for accessibility, consistency, and usability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience interfacing with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the importance of teamwork.
  • A willingness to grow with the role and make it your own.
  • Comfortable working in a complex and dynamic environment, juggling multiple priorities, and interacting with people at all levels of the organization and across multiple functions.
