If you do and hold a teaching qualification keep on reading…An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and creative Tutor, to join our Supported Internship programme. The role is on a full time (37.5 hours per week) in the Staffordshire region. You will have the opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team as well as help young people with a learning disability, learning difficulty and / or autism access the world of work.As a Tutor on Mencap’s Internship programme you will teach English and Maths by embedding it into lessons about employability. As a Tutor you will focus on the delivery of the educational element of Supported Internships programmes. You will also work closely with team members to provide in work support within the work placement and support in securing paid employment.As a Tutor you will deliver elements of teaching, learning and assessment to learners including accredited functional skills in both English and Mathematics. (essential):Experience of supporting peopleExperience of delivering against targetsExperience of working with a diverse group of learnersA-C/9-4 English & Maths GCSE (or equivalent)Level 3 Award in Education or equivalent as a minimum with the willingness to work towards Level 5 (DTLLS, PGCE, CertEd)Knowledge and experience of delivering and assessing functional skills English and maths up to level 2Experience & knowledge of safe working practicesGood classroom management skills and strategiesGood time management and planning skillsPlease see the Job Description for full role requirements.
