As a strategic and execution-oriented thought partner, the Managing Director – Revenue & Business Development will work closely with the Head of Simplii Financial to drive revenue growth and management strategies, go-to-market financial performance and business/market expansion of Simplii’s digital banking business. This includes ricing / promotions, client strategy, distribution and enterprise-wide partnerships, market and competitive intelligence, strategic initiatives focused on top-line revenue growth.You will be responsible for identifying new monetization opportunities across new distribution channels, capabilities, and services. The ideal candidate will have an exceptional track record of collaborating with both internal cross-functional stakeholders across the business, as well as external strategic enterprise partners to achieve and exceed key revenue and business objectives for Simplii Financial.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.How You’ll SucceedPricing & Distribution – Champion and own revenue goal attainment through product pricing optimization, offer and promotion development and market/competitive analysis. Lead all market/competitive research to assess and evaluate the competitive landscape, evaluate opportunities, trends and threats to market position. Own and lead product and promotional pricing for all of Simplii’s product and services ss well as all product offers development, promotional campaign strategy and offers/promotional financial modeling. Lead and run Simplii’s regular pricing and sales campaign processes and workstreams and oversee all of Simplii’s financial and revenue specific workstreams and rhythm of the business activities.Client Strategy & Segmentation – Lead and oversee Simplii’s client segmentation strategy, client franchising development, overall market positioning and client go-to-market execution. Own client segmentation strategy and client segment go-to-market approach as well as lead, launch and manage cross-sell/up-sell and client franchising initiatives, offers or propositions to deepen client relationships and maximize revenue. Guide pricing and packaging decisions to maximize growth, retention and profitability; develop a differentiated messaging framework for all client segments and Simplii go-to-market value propositions. Assist in prioritization of product features and enhancements by quantifying the business and client opportunity and expected impact, monitoring product quality, and assessing our product-client-market fit.Business Development & Enterprise Partnerships – Develop an at-scale strategy for Simplii enterprise distribution and product partnerships to achieve revenue and client acquisition goals. Lead the execution of the enterprise partnership strategy to accelerate Simplii’s business growth, including identifying the highest priority opportunities for Simplii to pursue, sourcing opportunities, overseeing partner due diligence, and managing deal execution and ongoing relationship management. Oversee high impact cross-functional partnership initiatives, working with key stakeholders across Product, Finance, Marketing, Communications, Legal, Compliance, etc.People Management/ Leadership – Provide leadership and guidance to a team of professionals to ensure individual and business goals are achieved and/or exceeded. This includes attracting, aligning, motivating, and retaining people with competencies to meet present and future business goals in the highly competitive market for talent across online and mobile. Build team and individual capabilities by providing development opportunities such as job shadowing, special projects, and training.Who You AreYou can demonstrate exceptional and extensive Revenue Management, Strategic Finance and/or Business Development experience with 15+ years of progressive leadership experience. Strong knowledge of financial services, digital banking, client experience, retail banking industry, applicable regulatory and legislative framework and Simplii’s business processesYou have experience working in Strategy Consulting, Strategic Finance, Corporate Strategy / Corporate Development, or Investment Banking would be beneficial. Deep banking and financial services experience leading commercial PnL, Finance teams or Client Strategy / Segmentation teamsYou have attained a Bachelors degree in Business Administration / Commerce, Engineering, Math or Computer Science. CFA / MBA would be beneficialYou can demonstrate expert knowledge and experience in digital or retail banking pricing and business development, client segmentation strategy and market/competitive analysis. Strong strategic planning and analytics ability, with expertise executing growth-driving, full-funnel client and pricing strategies with an entrepreneurial mentalityYou can demonstrable ability to drive decision-making among cross-functional leaders, and to build relationships and gain agreement across large groups of stakeholders from all levels of the organization using quantitative and qualitative tacticsYou possess relevant Partnerships/Business Development experience within the FinTech, Payments or Retail Banking sectors. Natural client and commercial instincts, and a passion for understanding new business models, go-to-market strategies and new technologies and product innovationYou act like an owner. Proactive and resourceful, able to work alone, lead teams within dedicated and cross-functional teams through superior communication and organizational skillsYou’re passionate about people.
