Experienced Religious Education Teacher (RE) Sought for Secondary School in Merton, South LondonAbout the RoleOur client, a reputable secondary school in Merton, South London, is seeking a qualified Religious Education Teacher (RE) to join their esteemed faculty. This full-time, permanent position commences in September and offers an exciting opportunity to inspire and guide students through a comprehensive and engaging RE curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality RE instruction and a passion for fostering intellectual and spiritual growth in young people.Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver engaging RE lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities
  • Develop comprehensive lesson plans aligned with the National Curriculum and school’s ethos
  • Assess and monitor student progress through regular assessments and constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the RE department and across the wider school community
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching practice and stay abreast of curriculum updates

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies, Theology, or a related field
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Demonstrated experience teaching RE at the secondary level
  • Excellent subject knowledge and pedagogical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
