Our team members have what they need to make a meaningful impact and are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute.To learn more about CIBC, please visitThe Director, Trust and Estates will lead the Regional team of Senior Trust and Estate Consultants, Trust and Estate Consultants and Associate Trust and Estate Consultants, overseeing business development within the Region, working with internal partners and external centers-of-influence to pro-actively grow the estates and trust business. The Director is a producing Leader, having direct responsibility for business development in their own assigned market, within the Region.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role.   • Coach and mentor team of Consultants to successfully meet the Region’s revenue goals and overall growth strategy
  • Manage risk and revenue leakage through careful review of New Business opportunities, prudent use of discounting discretion and support of Will Bank Client relationship management
  • Proactively engage in succession planning, through recruitment and retention of top talent and ensuring smooth onboarding of new recruits
  • Provide ongoing training and mentoring to increase the knowledge and effectiveness of the team; conduct needs assessments to identify knowledge, skill and performance gaps
  • Collaborate with other members of the PW and Trust Office leadership teams to recognize successes and support improvements. Objectively investigate all client, partner and inter-departmental escalations and complaints; facilitate resolution and make recommendations for corrective action as appropriate.
  • Close sufficient new business within assigned market to meet sales targets for agency and fiduciary appointments
  • Pro-actively build partnerships with local representatives of Private Wealth Management, Wood Gundy, Imperial Service and with local centre’s of influence, lawyers, and accountants
  • Create and implement a regional plan for sourcing business and raising awareness of CIBC Trust products
  • Pro-actively refer beneficiaries to CIBC partners in order to keep funds within CIBC
  • Expand professional knowledge by keeping abreast of Estates & Trusts legislative changes, jurisprudence and shifting industry trends
  • Provide trust training sessions to target partner audiences and participate in client seminars
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly reporting on business development activities
  • Work with CIBC Trust partners to ensure the smooth onboarding of new clients

  • You’re a certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing in Post-secondary degree or equivalent experience. It’s an asset if you are a member of a Trust Institute (MTI); and/or Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) Or, Allied Professional qualification (LL.B., C.A., CGA, CFP, PFPC, Ch.P. etc.) would be an asset.
  • You have extensive knowledge of jurisprudence, legislation and regulations pertaining to the administration of Estates and Trusts.
