Reporting directly to the Financial Controller this position is responsible for supporting the team as directed by completing accounting processes, reconciliations, reporting and analysis on a monthly and year end basis. Responsibilities within the department may include processing, reconciling and analyzing accounts receivables, accounts payables, credit cards, and other tasks as applicable. A thorough knowledge of full cycle accounting is essential for success in this role.Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update accounting records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and fixed assets
• Process financial transactions such as AR/AP invoices, customer deposits, vendor payments, credit card and expense reports.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
• Prepare month end closings & provide the monthly reports
• Year end adjustments journal entries
• Analyze financial data and trends for forecasting purposes
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company procedures
• Assist with audits and tax filings as necessary
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in accounting or finance
• 2 years of experience as an accountant or in a related role
• Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and principles
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities, meet tight deadlines and manage a demanding workload
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Prior experience with Oracle NetSuite is an asset.
• Ability to work and co-operate with other team members and co-workers
